Composts and Organic Gardens
3Hello all,
It has been a very busy month for us as usual at GCP,as the hot summer months finish we are usually inundated with requests for gardens and composts.
This month we have installed several large home gardens and assisted the great folks at Studio village in getting their community garden up and growing.
So if you are looking for a great affordable garden, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Beds are coming along well, getting ready for the growing season ahead.
A great turn out and wonderful support from Council officer David Webb and Councillor Owen Jones, as well as the team from Studio village gardens and Studio village community center.
Look at those magnificent lemon grass edges so much more functional than a fence.
Making good use of the hillside with citrus and more grasses to stop erosion and help build soil on the edge.
Vanessa happy to be finished.
Here is a garden just about to get started!
Another beautiful garden on the way.
- Our gardens are not only beautiful and functional creations that grow great produce, they are in our opinion the most environmentally responsible gardens available.
- Our bio intensive garden system is extremely low in embodied energy value with all inputs created on the Gold Coast from local waste streams by our team of soil smiths.
- Once established you are on you way to years of production of high value mineral rich food, the increase in bio diversity and animals in your yard is one of the great side effects of these low maintenance gardens that become a backyard oasis in time.

- If you would like us to install or assist with you home, school,or community garden just let us know.We have the team and the experience that makes us one of the leading exponents of Urban agriculture in Australia.
- We can custom design and install your garden quickly and efficiently, these gardens are ideal ways to get acquainted with organic food production and take the hassle and guesswork out of the way.

Composts
First let us thank all those great people who have decided to purchase our locally made hand crafted pro biotic soil foods. We create every bag with our own hands and care deeply about the process of creating high value humic rich soil foods that will get any garden up and growing.
We have had such a run on these products, that we have sold out completely of our “Inoculate soil food“,we still have good supplies of mushroom compost which we fortify and age at our Carrara site.
We have good supplies of our Blood and Bone compost which is an ideal lawn food slow release and also an excellent on mulch side dressing for all fruit trees going into vegetative growth.
This Band B compost is super versatile and can be used as a lower layer in a tropical bio intensive garden or to start a compost heap as it is super rich in nitrogen.
We are currently 1 week behind in orders for our “Inoculate soil food“ this is a hand turned, hand sifted, hand bagged product.
We produce it in individual batch piles with over 40 different inputs,we activate it like a sour dough by keeping the best of our old composts and microbial additives and starting the new pile with them.
We will have another 300 units ready by the 28th of Feb please forgive us and be patient. The good news is that we will have an excellent supply of this as more and more batches come into the stream over the coming month.
We are recommending to all of our clients that they purchase a 50/50 ratio of Mushroom and Inoculate as they perform better when combined. We will extend the compost special all the way through March.Remember we always have our range of wormtec products which are an absolute must if you are going to eco-logically garden. To ensure you have your order filled drop us a line @ info@goldcoastpermaculture.org.au or call on 55393973 and we will be glad to take your order.
We thank you for your support and kind encouragement as well as your feedback.

Brilliant!
Makes us very happy to see more of this happening on the GC. Which would you say is the better compost for our climate, mushroom or blood & bone??
That is a good question Roger, the blood and bone is usually not suitable for growing directly in.Usually it has a very high calcium and nitrogen level and is suitable for top dressing a lawn as a feeding boost or as a layer in a lasange garden usually the lowest level.
Mushroom compost is pretty versatile and can be used as a feeding mulch or as a soil amendment and you will get good results in Queensland.
We sell a very good product that combines both these products and 40 other inputs the product can be ordered by contacting us at GCP via the website. Thanks for you question and the support.
